Summer J-1
Thinking About a Summer J-1?
While Rian does not sponsor the Summer J-1, we want to help Irish students find the right resources! Here are some key facts:
What is the Summer J-1?
- A cultural exchange program that allows full-time university students to work and travel in the U.S. during the summer.
- Participants must secure a job before applying and work with a designated visa sponsor.
- The program promotes cultural understanding by allowing students to experience life and work in the U.S. temporarily.
Finding a Job:
- Use J-1 Facebook groups & forums: These often have real-time job postings, tips, and employer contacts from past and current J-1 students.
- Check employer websites: Many businesses post job openings directly on their websites.
- Search online: Google terms like “Tourism jobs in Boston,””Bars in Boston,” or “Restaurants in Boston.”
- Reach out directly: Contact owners, hiring managers, or HR departments to ask about open positions.
